Band: Dopamine

I started playing bass at the age of 17 on December 1, 1992. A few weeks before I started playing I watched Tommy the Cat from Primus for the first time on TV. I was so addicted to the bass in the video, though at the time I had no clue what instrument he was playing. When I found out, I asked a buddy of mine to borrow his as he was also left-handed. Since the only thing I knew about a bass was the Primus video I watched, I started playing chords and slap/popping the strings right away. I pretty
much still do the same thing to this day but with a little more
precision, and a properly tuned bass! Later on I learned about playing root notes and stuff the way a bass is normally played so I kind of learned backwards, but that’s what us lefties do right, everything backwards!

To this day I still play, will always play, and wouldn’t be the same
person if I didn’t catch that video of Tommy the Cat.

Later days,
Kenneth
