I began the planning for the yourney to Switzerland long time before. The first step was a meeting with Reto Bauert in Pfäffikon, near Zürich. Reto is the lefty bassist of the Switzerland band "Die Lebenden Dosen". A cover band with comedian parts. I am in touch with Reto long time before. He offered me his Warwick Thumb 5string bass which I was intrested in.
At first I liked to follow the invitation of Reto and his wife Yvonne for a dinner. We talked about music and the living in Switzerland. I was very intrested for me to learn more about the living in this country of our neighbourhood.
We spend a nice evening there.
Next day Reto showed me his collection of MusicMan Stingray 5string basses and the basses Reto wanted to part: The Warwick Thumb, a Eko fretless bass (this one was is for my son Daniel) and a Tune Maniac bass wich was befit to the lefty son of my nieghbours as my permanent loan.
After that Reto and Yvionne showed me the whole splendor of th e Pfäffikon landscape.
Reto is the owner of the Restaurant Brauerei in the mid of Pfäffikon.
Not only the left-handed bass player is recommended urgently to stop off here. The
restaurant offers an extremely exquisite menu! So if you come to Switzelrand - have a break here!
