At this time I´m proud to introduce you further lefty bassplayers. German lefties are a higher share than the month before. :=)

Jörg Neugebauer / Germany, Andreas Heß / Germany, H.H.Babe / Germany and James Christian / USA give us their support for this small website and sent me their informations. Thank you very much guys!

On May 13th, 2003 I met Jörg Neugebauer in Munich. You will find a review about this meeting as well as a review about the frist step of my Switzerland journey under the rubric "Meetings". Here I met Reto Bauert by his invitation in his beautifull hometown Pfäffikon (Thanks again, Reto and Yvonne!).

The personal site of Yves Carbonne became a update. Here you will find links to his noble basses from the luthier "Noguera".

There are new songs (MP3 files) by the band of mine "Motherless Child" which are recorded recently. Check them out if you like.

----I´m sorry! There was a broken link on the personal page of Bernard Harris. It´s repaired now for your attention!----

This picture will give you a small foretaste of the upcomming review of my meeting with the great bassplayer Marco Mazotti.
In a limit of 3135 meter, in front of the wonderfull scenery of the Matterhorn, Marco signs my autograph bass.

For all friends of lefty Fender basses, this email from my friend Barto Bruno would be intresting. He found a source of lefty Fender Jazz- and Precision basses, made in Japan. Bart had allowed me to public his mail he send me days before:

"....I'm in contact with a company in Japan as we speak. They have Japanese reissue P's and J's. Of issue is a black lefty which they have in stock. I currently have a sunburst '57 reissue from Fender Japan, and it's a great instrument. Of all the P Basses, the one I view as the most classic is a black '57, with maple fingerboard and gold anodized pickguard, sometimes referred to as a "Black Beauty", after James Jamerson's first Fender. I actually thought of contacting the Fender Custom Shop about one, but since Fender USA is doing absolutely nothing for lefties, decided otherwise......"(Fender Japan Web Shop)

Arni,
The Black '57 reissue arrived from Tokyo yesterday. To say the least, I'm quite pleased. It's a very sound instrument, with good tone and feel. I need to either locate or have made a gold anodized pickguard, the one I have doesn't fit. The people at Ishibashi Music were very courteous and helpful at all times, I recommend them highly. Stay in touch.

Bart

That´s it for now, Friends! This update contains more than 70 new and updated files. I hope you enjoy it. I´m glad to get some responce. If you like, please use my guestbook.

Stay in touch and let us hope for a world in peace and harmony.

We just have come home from a 2.000 km long journey through the wonderfull Switzerland.
The main reason for this trip was the meetings of the lefthand bassplayers Reto Bauert and Marco Mazotti. Reto and Marco are really nice people (as the other Swiss also)! We want to thank Reto and Marco very much for the warm welcome, the hospitality and the nice hours in the great nature of Switzerland. Detailed reports will follow soon.

It was on May 8th, 2003
Colin Hodgkinson, a very versatile and famous bass player from England toured with the Spencer Davis Group in our local area. We had substantially opportunity to speak with the pleasant and gifted LH-bass player and to admire his ability before the concert. Colin took much time for us, although his health was shattered. You will find a review here: Meetings / Colin Hodgkinson

And we may welcome left-handed bass players again! Please wellcome to
John Fowles / England, Henning Müller / Germany, Steve Determan / USA and Tom Puta / Belgium.

Already further information of left-handed bass players are with me. I will introduce them all in the coming updates. Here is a small foretaste for you. I will present you a "monsterbass". A unicat, I think. His owner will tell some details in the upcoming update:

Warwick Thumb double neck (5-string fretless, 6-string fretted)

Stay in tune!

This month will be exciting! I try to meet some lefty bassists here in Germany and in Switzerland!

Jörg Neugebauer (13.05.2003 in Munich): Jörg is planning a great project for the lefy bassplayers here in Germany. His idea is to get in touch with German luthiers and shops, to build a cooperation for us lefties. We try to find dealers in the north, middle and south of Germany they will keep lefty basses in stock. (We use our "Forum" for discussing).

On May, 12th, I will meet my friend and lefty bassplayer of the band "The Gas", Armin Klopfer, from Ulm / Germany.

From May 28. till 31. Sigi and I travel to Switzerland. We will meet Reto Bauert, Lefty located in Pfäffikon. I will make a deal with him for a lefty bass. Than our trip will bring us to my friend and lefty bassist Marco Mazotti who lives in the south of Switzerland. I´m in touch with Marco for a very long time and it´s time to meet him in person.

On May, 8th, I try to get in touch with a importend left handed bassist (No! Not Paul!) here in my hometown. More informations maybe later on.

Yes! I met him! Thursday, May 8th, 2003!

I will present detail review´s next weeks and months. So be curious and check out my sites.

I´m proud to present you more lefties from England, Africa and the USA! Neil Dalchau (England) and Joel Myers (Canada) sent me their information. And Bill Morgan from Africa! This is an example how long it can take to be featured in our international lefty list. I´m in touch with Bill since October 2000.

It is only available from Jack's website, casadybass.com/epiphone.htm. According to the web site, Casady himself strings, inspects, and sets the action on each instrument before shipping.

I wish you and your families a happy and successful New Year. May all our wishes come true, specially for peace and harmony.

2003: This year starts with the promise, to be exciting and full of surprises. I´m very optimistic for this year, for traveling a lot and to meet many lefty bassplayers in person. If you come to Germany, please let me know!

Our lefty website got a lot of support and respect last weeks. That´s a great pleasure for me. Thank you very much!

Right now I´m dicussing with the german lefty from Munich, Jörg Neugebauer, to get some more support from the industry. How can we lefties get more support from the professional journals and makers of lefty bass guitars? What can we do, if we are intrested in special basses, but there is no chance to check them out? If you have any idea`s, please let us know and use our Forum for this.

The community will get bigger and bigger! Thank´s to Pony Abrams / USA, Achim Helge Winkelmeier / Germany, Francesco Gabbanini / Italy and Frank Bregy / USA. Please take a look to their websites.

Stay in touch and hope to see you soon!
