It is getting darker outside and we spend more time at home and maybe on the computer. It think that´s the reason to get so much support from lefties.

So please welcome Jean-Pierre Fortin / Canada, Carlos Henrique Máximo / Brazil, Andreas Sinth / Germany, Kevin Hamilton / Scotland, Morgan Blin / France and Jürgen Steffen / Germany. Thank you all for your support!

Please watch out the updated sites of Peter Jordan / Ireland and Peter Van der Linden / Netherlands as well.

I´m glad to be in touch with you all.

The cover of our 3rd project (and maybe the last ever) is finished now. Jack Frisch, a wellknown designer for jazz CD covers (and lefty bassplayer) did a great job.

I have a question to all Fender freaks out there.

I have to different Fender Precision cover and I can´t find answers for that.

In front is a "normal" Fender Precision pickup cover. Who can tell me some details to that cover in the back?

In the back you will the a "normal" Fender Precision bridge cover. This one in front has a bigger opening than the other. What´s that??

.

Thank you very much for your help and please let me know if you can solve that mystery!

It seems the time is running and I often don´t know what to do at first. But now I have the opportunity to presend you a new update.

Nicolas Queiroz from Brazil is joining our lefty list of lefthand bassists. Thank you very much for your cooperation, Nicolas!

I get a lot of mails from left handed bassists from all over the world. But some don´t like to be listed in our international lefty list with a picture and detailed informations. That´s OK! I´m thinking about a second list with informations about the name and the country for lefty bassists. If you like to send me detailed informations later, no problem! I will create your personal site than. What do you think?

.

The tracks of our 3rd (and probably last!) CD of lefty bassits is complete. It´s a double CD again!

Now it´s time to create a cover for it and I need your help for that. If you have any idea, please get in touch with me!

Wotan Basses!?!?

Some weeks before I saw an offer about a lefty Wotan bass in the internet.

I didn´t know this manufacturer and checked out all my books to find some informations. Nothing!

After that I was looking into the internet and tried to get some informations. Nothing!

Kai Barling from Germany is a owner of a Wotan bass from the 80´ and he know some more bassplayers who are useing this kind of bass. But he couldn´t tell me details.

So here is my question:

Who can tell us something about Wotan basses (and guitars?)

Information from Thorsten (Germany): Build in late 70´s till mid 80´s. Made in Japan!

.

The personal sites of Tom Morrison and Daniel Arnecke got an update too.

.

Thanks for all! Stay in touch!

What´s up?

It´s still quiet in the scene of lefty bassplayers. I think the reason is the welldeserved holidaytime and most are out of home right now.
So I´m very thankfull for each information for the left handed bassplayer!

At first I like to welcome the american lefthanded bassists
Rick Fertal and Ronn Roberts. I met both lefties years before and I´m really glad to get their support after this long time.

I got news from
Dominik Merz and Francesco Gabbanini. So please pay attention to their updated websites!

I´m sorry to tell you that lefty Lakland project is cancelled. The reason is the low number of orders for this Lakland Skyline Holowbody bass. As you know, we tried to get 30 bookings for it, but we didn´t reach this high number not nearly.

But don´t be sad! For those of you who are dreamling of a lefthand hollowbody bass, and for those who will find some dimes in his piggy bank, I like to point you to
Fokus guitars, a Czech Republic firm, who offers a hollowbody bass available in a lefhand version (made in Korea). This bass costs 14200 CZK (433 USD) and needs 3 month for delivery.
If you are really interested in this bass, let me know. I think my Czech friend Zdenek tries to help us to get more informations.

Dominik Merz told me about a luthier from Poland:
Witkowski guitars.
He just got his lefty Witkowski Bass and he´s very satisfied with the quality, price, sound and handling of this basses.

Thanks for all these informations and let me know if there is something intresting for us!

For those of you who will travel during the holidays, I wish a nice time. Those who want/must stay at home, you can reach me all the time.

Talk to you soon!

+++++++INFORMATION FROM BART BRUNO+++++++++++++

"Arni,
I found another site in Japan, www.yuumusic.com. They apparently don't sell outside of Japan, but they have two very interesting items nonetheless. One is a pre '57 P Bass lefty, can't tell if it's original or reissuue, the other is a combination Stratocaster,-P Bass, double body, double neck, the works> Have seen a few of these right handed before, but never lefty."

"Both basses you asked are copied instrument made by the shop and have been already sold. But I think the doublenecked one is a custum-made article. It may be possible make it again. Unfortunately, the shop says that sending are limited in Japan.

Best regards from Japan

Nob."
